(00-13) ESTEP - HUNT - FARLEY - HOLSTEIN - WALKER - EASTER:
I am from the ESTEP line of Boone Co., WV. Shadrack ESTEP, born 1792 NC, married Elizabeth HUNT, born 1792 Bedford Co., VA. They lived in KY until about 1836-38 when he moved to what is now Boone Co., WV then moved to Lincoln Co., WV. He had a son, James ESTEP of Brush Creek, Boone Co., WV. James married Lavina FARLEY and second to Malinda Jane HOLSTEIN. James and Malinda had a daughter, Alvertine, born 1869, who married Charles Fitch WALKER. Charles and Alvertine WALKER had a son Lummie WALKER, born 1884 Brush Creek, WV. Lummie WALKER married Susan EASTER and they are my grandparents. Would like to know more about these ESTEPs.

Seeking information on Rebecca, wife of Thomas SPEER, who lived in the Yadkin River Valley area of what was then Surry Co., NC. Thomas was born c1730 in Somerset Co., MD to Robert SPEER and died c1796 in Surry Co., NC, leaving a will proved 2 Dec 1796. Children mentioned in the will were: Rueben, Betsey, Nancy, Sarah, Robert, William, Druery, Spencer, Eli and Thomas. The will also mentioned a Jacob ESTOP as a guardian for minor child, Thompson SPEER. It is not known if Thompson was a son of Thomas and Rebecca. Spencer SPEER (born bef 1765), settled in Russell Co., VA.
Was Rebecca an ESTEP and a daughter of Thomas ESTEP, Sr.? Many researchers suspect she was. She was probably born c1738 and would fit in nicely as one of Thomas Sr.'s children. When and where did Rebecca and Thomas marry? Any assistance appreciated.Polly Garza -- pgarza3@juno.com
